Share this post:

Tuesday, 28th February saw the ground-breaking ceremony for the start of building a multi-million pound data centre in Beaconsfield Road (off Springfield Road), Hayes. To be provided by internationally-renowned Colt Data Centres, it will bring 350 construction jobs and 50 apprenticeships to Hayes with around 230 permanent jobs when the project is completed. They are specialists in providing ‘hyperscale data centres’ and there will be two large buildings, both run on 100% renewable energy. It will be known as the London 4 Data Centre and Phase 1 is expected to be completed by March 2025.

Colt are very keen to work with local people and have already been in close contact with the nearby Guru Nanak Academy. Links will also be developed with other local schools in Hayes and Uxbridge College. As part of their commitment to the community they and their construction partners have agreed to provide £20,000 towards the cost of this year’s Hayes Canal Festival which will take place on Sunday, 28th May.
