What is PR? How is it different to marketing? How does it work in the digital age?
Public Relations can seem a mysterious subject, but it is a crucial part of the marketing mix. As the media has changed, PR has evolved, and the strategies and tactics that were once used with powerful newspapers, magazines and broadcasters are now often directed elsewhere through blogs, social media and other digital channels. PR also has a huge role to play in stakeholder engagement, for example in talking with communities, government and partners about planning, regeneration and other projects. It’s also increasingly important in helping organisations to demonstrate their environmental and social responsibility.
